# Docusign

> Let your Legal assistant check the status of Docusign envelopes and read agreements. Read only, and sending for signature is never run from chat. Coming soon.

Docusign is where agreements get signed. Once you connect it, your assistants can check which envelopes are still waiting and read the agreements, so you always know where a contract stands.

The Legal assistant is the one that works with contracts. It is Coming soon, as are all personas except the Coder.

## What assistants can do

Docusign connects through the tool's own hosted connector, and it is read only.

## Setup (when it opens)

1. In Docusign, open the area for apps and integration keys and create an integration key.
2. Generate an access token for the account the assistants should use.
3. Open [Integrations](https://stellarfirm.ai/app/integrations) in StellarFirm.
4. Pick Docusign.
5. Paste the token, switch on the live option, and press Connect.

## Permissions

- The assistants can read what the token's account can read.
- Nothing here waits for an Approve because nothing here changes data. Sending something for signature is never run from chat, so the assistants cannot send a contract to anyone. You do that in Docusign.
- Revoke the token in Docusign whenever you want to cut access.

## Good to know

- Docusign access tokens may expire. If the assistants say they cannot reach Docusign, create a fresh token and paste it again.
- Docusign has a separate demo environment for testing. When it opens, try the connection there first if you want to see how it behaves with no real contracts.
- Ask a question with an answer, such as "which envelopes are waiting for a signature", and the assistant will give you a short list.
